Tenafly JCC’s new salt water pool will be open on Thursday, October 18.
The indoor pool was converted from chlorine to a new state-of-the-art saline (salt water) system, and a new deck was installed. While work on the indoor pool was going on the JCC kept the outdoor pool open despite the colder weather.
Salt prevents algae growth, is environmentally and ecologically positive, and provides continuous disinfection and a comfortable swimming environment. It is only a fraction of the salt content in the ocean and:
- Does not sting the eyes
- Does not damage hair
- Does not damage bathing suits
- Does not irritate skin
- Does not have a chlorine smell
